Cookery classes for children

Cooking and dancing around the world. 

Hands-on cookery classes with music for kids aged 3 to 6.

Each week we will travel into a different country.

The children  will prepare, cook, eat tasty and nutritious food from all around the world. They will try new flavors and recipes in a fun, relaxed atmosphere.

The sessions will inspire, motivate the children to learn about other cultures and new languages.They will learn, dance, sing traditional music.

DESCRIPTION

The workshop consist of a direct and practical approach to earth construction techniques.

The materials used are:
- Cob: clay mixed with sand and straw
- Sun-dried bricks
- Lime
- Wood
- Natural pigments
- Recycled materials

AIM

Build a cob oven, and supporting cooking/planting area with natural materials, understanding these materials behavior, composition and dosage.

Create a free style decoration and embellishment using recycle tiles, glass, other natural materials and pigments.

Have lots of fun and eating lovely food while connecting with people.

Multicultural Workshop

In cooperation with Escola Portuguesa Bristol ( https://www.facebook.com/escolaportuguesabristol?fref=ts ), and Greek for you ( http://greekforyou.com/newsite/ ) we are starting a project to create an International school in Bristol, to promote and encourage environmental awareness, creativity, arts and crafts and understanding of different world cultures.The project has started with Multicultural Workshops with children from Greece, Portugal and Spain, aged 4 to 11. 

Playing games and music, we find cultural similarities between different countries and learn about traditions that we can share. 

We also work to improve their language skills and help children find others from the same country of origin.

COUNTRY IDENTIFICATION GAME
Identifying the country using clues of each of the 3 countries, working in mixed cultural groups.

TRADITIONAL MUSIC DANCE
We learn 3 traditional dances of the 3 countries, and dance all together.

TAVERNA PARTY 

Identifying and recognizing similarities in words and food of the 3 countries.

The Oasis Guardian

Projects with children in Morocco

Development and cooperation project in M'Hammid Oasis (Morocco). It is carried out by the association TERRACHIDIA. The project involved studying and restoring the architectural heritage of M´Hamid Oasis, and establishing a cultural exchange with the local population.

The project involved workshops with children to promote and encourage the awareness of different world cultures, drawing about what they like from their home town, sing songs in different languages and play a story about a man that became the Oasis Guardian.

Finally, every body had a card where we wrote their names and their title as 

"Guardian de l´oasis"

Project with children age 6 to 12.

We have a treasure, 5 senses: sight, hearing, taste, smell and toch

These workshops help us to discover our 5 senses, making instruments and tools, telling and creating stories, practice cooking, dance, inventing games, create with our hands,playing songs and singing etc..

Project  to encourage children age 2 to 6 to read. 

It have been developed in the public libraries of Madrid Community.

This project involves  telling stories, playing songs and singing and reading books.
